Two hidden fleets, one grid, and a very simple penalty: every square you hit costs the owner a sip, and every ship you sink costs them two more. Clear the whole fleet and you win. No shot glasses to line up, no board to build, and no arguing about whether B4 was really a hit — the app keeps the score.
Two players, one phone. Name yourselves, pick a board, and the fleets deploy themselves.
3 ships · 9 squares to find · about 5 minutes
Player 1 — fire at Player 2's fleet
Tap any square to open fire.
Why play it online? The physical version of this game is a genuine build project. Players glue grids onto boards and line up shot glasses so that whoever calls a loaded square has to drink it — and the most upvoted versions online are people showing off the board they made at home. The other half of the conversation is people asking where they can simply buy one. This page skips all of it: the grid, the ships, the hits and the sip count are handled for you, and a game takes a couple of minutes to set up rather than an evening.
The app runs the grid, the ships and the count. Everything below is agreed out loud at the table — pick two or three before the first shot.
Play with water and keep your real drink on the side. Every rule works exactly the same, and everybody sets their own pace. The best house rule there is.
Before you tap a square, declare "double". If it is a hit, the owner drinks two instead of one. If it is a miss, you drink two. Turns every shot into a small gamble.
A sunk ship costs a full shot instead of two sips. Punishing, but it makes the endgame genuinely tense — and it stops the game dragging.
You must say the coordinate before you tap it, and you must say it clearly. Slur it, mumble it, or call a square you did not mean to call, and you drink one yourself.
When your ship goes down, you top up the other player's glass before the next shot. Slow, faintly humiliating, and a strong incentive to keep your fleet intact.
Instead of the closing three sips, the loser drains whatever is left in their glass. Sets up a natural rematch, because nobody wants to end on that.
Please drink responsibly. Battleship is a game, not a competition — pace yourself and drink water between rounds. See our guide.
